CRAZY SHARK FACTS

I chose to make a crazy shark facts website because sharks are really fascinating and I have always wanted to see a great white in person.

Sharks are cartilaginous. What makes sharks different from fish is that thier skeletons are made of cartilage instead of bone.

It has been estimated that the bite force of great white shark is up to 4,000 PSI. For comparison, a tiger generates around 1,000 PSI of bite force.

Sharks communicate through body language. Some common communications involve zigzag swimming, head shaking, hunched backs, and head butts.

Sharks have been known to reproduce assexually. This is known as parthenogenesis and has been documented in a variety of different species.

A shark has tough skin that is covered by dermal denticles, which are small plates covered with enamel, similar to that found on our teeth.

Sharks living deep in the water tend to have light color eyes to help them attract more light, while sharks living closer to the surface have darker colored eyes to shield them from the light.
